Sono ancora piuttosto cauto e desidero attendere immagini ad alta risoluzione adeguate. Il dipinto è affascinante e di grande interesse, ma onestamente non riesco a vedere correttamente la sua struttura tecnica con le immagini che abbiamo (non l’ho visto dal vivo).
Il mio primo commento se lo desdieri a questo punto è piuttosto secco. Trovo il dipinto di grande interesse, ma non posso davvero esprimermi in merito ad una sua definitiva attribuzione basandomi solo sulle immagini che ho visto. Anche la sua condizione attuale non aiuta. Negli ultimi giorni, molto è già stato scritto sulla sua potenziale provenienza. Ci sono ipotesi interessanti e plausibili, ma richiedono ulteriori ricerche e una documentazione di provenienza più sicura. Sono piuttosto cauto e desidero aspettare di vedere il dipinto di persona. I colleghi che l’hanno visto sono rimasti colpiti. Sarò lieto di darti commenti adeguati una volta pubblicate le immagini ad alta risoluzione e i test di pulizia.
Hi Pietro. I’m still rather cautious and wish to await proper high resolution images. The painting is fascinating and of great interest, but honestly I can’t get to see its technical structure properly with the images that we have (I have not seen it in real life).
My comment at this point is rather dry (if you wish). I find the painting fascinating and of great interest, but cannot really express myself on the merits of its definite attribution on the basis of the images that I have seen. Its present condition is not helping either. Over the past days, much has already been written on its potential provenance. There are interesting and plausible hypotheses, but they require further research and more secure provenance documentation. I am rather cautious and wish to await seeing the painting in person. Colleagues who have seen it in real life were impressed.”
